Get to know who the Red Bulls will be playing in their upcoming matchup.

How they’re doing

Inter Miami, in only their third season as an MLS organization, has still yet to find their foothold in the league.

This season, they currently sit towards the bottom of the table in the Eastern Conference with only 12 points from 12 matches.

Their -10 goal difference is the second-worst difference in MLS, and they are currently on a four-match winless run since they beat Atlanta United on April 24.

That Atlanta win was the final win of a three-match winning streak that Miami had in the middle of the season. That streak accounted for all three wins Miami has accumulated this season.

On Wednesday, they held the Eastern Conference-leading Philadelphia Union to a 0-0 draw.

Head-to-Head History

It has been a short history between New York and Miami, with the two clubs only facing each other four previous times.

The Red Bulls own a 3-1-0 record against Inter Miami CF, with New York scoring ten goals and only allowing three in those four matches.

Patryk Klimala and Omir Fernandez are the active leading scorers against Miami with two goals each.

In New York’s last trip to DRV PNK Stadium on September 18, they left with a 4-0 victory.

Player to Watch- Forward Leonardo Campana

The player that has made Inter Miami’s offense run this season is Leonardo Campana.

The Ecuadorian international who is currently on loan from Premier League side Wolverhampton has six goals in 12 appearances in 2022, which is half of Miami’s 12 goals scored this season.

When the offensive focus turned to him instead of Gonzalo Higuain, he repaid Miami’s trust in him with five goals and an assist in a four-match span across all competitions.

Miami was 4-0-0 during that stretch.

Since then, though, Campana has yet to play a full 90 minutes, and has only added one more goal to his 2022 tally.

Despite that, Campana will have to be a focus for the New York defense if they want to leave Fort Lauderdale with a clean sheet.
