HARRISON, N.J. (June 5, 2025) – Red Bulls Academy U-15s named MLS NEXT U-15 Team of the Month, the league announced today.
The U-15s have had a strong month of May. In three MLS NEXT League matches, they went 3-0 scoring 16 goals while only giving up two. The squad most notably defeated Beadling SC 8-1 on May 17 at Red Bulls Training Facility.
The success continued in 2025 MLS NEXT FLEX where they had a great showing in Group P, winning all three matches and scoring 14 goals and only conceding one. They opened play with a 6-0 win over Atletico Santa Rosa, then New York defeated Chula Vista FC 7-1 on Day 2. The U-15s wrapped up group play with a crucial 1-0 victory against Nashville SC to win the group and clinched their spot in the 2025 MLS NEXT Playoffs in Nashville, Tennessee.
“May was an eventful and rewarding month for our group” says Head Coach Jose Jimenez, “The highlight was our showing at the MLS NEXT Flex event, three wins from three games, 14 goals scored and only one conceded, finishing top of our group after a competitive final match against Nashville. What made it even more special was doing it with eight players born in 2011, true U-14s, stepping up and showing their quality. It was a great way to close the regular season and build momentum heading into playoffs.”
This is the second time this season the U-15s were named MLS NEXT Team of the Month, previously doing so in September 2024.
The U-15s will be back in action at the 2025 MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs in Nashville, Tennessee on June 13 with a Round of 32 Matchup against St. Louis City SC.
