U-20 WORLD CUP: Adams, 10-man U.S. Advance to Round of 16

The United States U-20 Men’s National Team tied Saudi Arabia, 1-1, in the final match of the Group Stage.


With the draw, the U.S. clinched the top spot in Group F.


New York Red Bulls midfielder Tyler Adams started and played the full 90 minutes.


The USMNT took the lead in the 40th minute, thanks to Brooks Lennon’s tap-in goal from a rebound.


Minutes later, the Americans were reduced to 10 men when Cameron Carter-Vickers was issued a red card.


Saudi Arabia leveled the match in the 74th minute, which was enough to earn a draw and a spot in the Knockout Stage.


With the first place finish in Group F, the United States will face New Zealand in the Round of the 16 on Thursday, June 1 at 6:50 a.m. ET.
