USL Match Preview: NYRB II Welcome TFC II for First 2017 Meeting

HARRISON, N.J. (July 20, 2017) - New York Red Bulls II (6-10-3, 21 points) play host to Toronto FC II at MSU Soccer Park Friday, June 21 in what will be their first matchup of the 2017 USL season. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET and can be livestreamed via USL Match Center. Sitting 10th in the Eastern Conference standings, a win Friday would push NYRB II over the red line for the USL playoffs.


New York is coming off a 3-2 loss to the Charlotte Independence last Saturday that saw defender David Najem notch his first career goal for NYRB II as well as Vincent Bezecourt recording his league-leading eighth assist. It came via a corner kick that Junior Flemmings headed home for his fifth goal on the year.


TFC II is coming off a 1-0 win over Canadian rival Ottawa Fury FC, their first victory since June 14.


Last season, NYRB II went 1-1-0 against TFC II drawing them 2-2 at Red Bull Arena and defeating them 1-0 at Ontario Soccer Centre.


Following Friday’s match, NYRB II travel to Slugger Field to take on the third place Louisville City FC next Saturday, July 29.
