AT&T Goal of the Week: Week 26

Important goals were flying into the nets across Major League Soccer during the past week, but only five have made the cut as finalists for the latest AT&T MLS Goal of the Week poll.

Irish international Kevin Doyle bravely thumped home a resourceful header to push the suddenly-surging Colorado Rapids past the Houston Dynamo 2-1 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Diego Fagundez's coolly taken finish led the New England Revolution to victory over the Philadelphia Union – and also made the Uruguayan-American the youngest player in MLS history to score 25 career goals.

His team couldn't turn it into the three points they needed, but Andrew Jacobson had his shooting boots on in the Big Apple on Saturday, drilling a long-range effort past Steve Clark in New York City FC's 2-1 home loss to Columbus Crew SC.

Patrick Nyarko has been a welcome reinforcement for the Chicago Fire on his return to regular minutes following injury struggles earlier this year, and on Wednesday he netted a crucial goal (with a helping chest from Michael Stephens) as the Men in Red knocked off the New York Red Bulls at Toyota Park.

And finally, 2014 Golden Boot winner Bradley Wright-Phillips put the exclamation mark on an absorbing weekend with an emphatic volley into the top corner to score the Red Bulls' second goal en route to that 3-0 thumping of rivals D.C. United.

Which goal was your favorite? Vote now – the winner will be announced on Friday.

Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursdays. For complete coverage of the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week – including an archive of all of this season’s nominees and winners – click here.
