Red Bulls Academy Update: July 19

A LOOK BACK:
U23s: The Red Bull U23s dropped a 3-2 decision to FC Sonic Saturday, July 17 in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) Regional Playoff. FC Sonic got on the board first after a scramble in the box from a free-kick.  However the U23s responded well as Matt Bouraee (Manasquan, NJ/Cornell University) hammered home a Kevin Garcia (Flushing, NY/Villanova University) cross to level the game in the first half.

FC Sonic again scored off a scramble in the box after a corner kick to regain the lead. In the second half the Red Bulls started to take control of the game and passed the ball very well and generated several good scoring chances. Rob McLarney (Londonderry, NH/Rutgers University) blasted a shot from 35 yards out to level the score.

FC Sonic scored with five minutes left off one of their few chances in the second half to send them to the NPSL finals. The U23s end their inaugural season in the NPSL with a 10-2-1 record after capturing the Atlantic Division crown.

U18s:  The Red Bulls U18s did not play last week.

U16s:  The Red Bulls U16s did not play last week.

U14 Pre-Academy:  The U14 Pre-Academy Red Bulls did not play last week.

U14 1996:  The U14 1996 Red Bulls did not play last week.
