Academy Player Named USDA Performer of the Week

Harrison, NJ- Brandon Allen has yet to celebrate his one-year anniversary with the Red Bulls Academy but has already drawn attention to the organization through a proven track record of scoring big goals in the highest levels of competition with the U-17 and U-18 squads.  He added to his impressive résumé by being named the U.S. Soccer Development Academy U-17/18 Performer of the Week for his two goals each in resounding victories over Match Fit Chelsea and NJSA 04 to cap off an already memorable week in which the Academy trained for two days with the Argentinean Men’s National Team.

The honor is the first for any player in the Red Bulls Academy this season.  Allen, a forward from Old Bridge, NJ, who has committed to play for Georgetown University in the fall, has tallied 11 goals in 10 matches for the Red Bulls to start the 2011 season.  He scored two goals, including a penalty kick, in the match against the renowned Atlas (Mexico) Youth Program at Red Bull Arena in 2010 in the Red Bull Battle del Toro match, among other notable performances.
