Over 1,000 fans flocked to New York Red Bulls Fan Fest this past weekend as players and front office staff helped organize this special event at Red Bull Arena. As part of the festivities, fans were able to take penalty shots on the pitch, holiday photos in goal, tour the team’s locker room and select their seats for the 2012 season.

The event began Friday as part of a season-ticket holder event with defenders Chris Albright and Carlos Mendes on hand to take photos, sign autographs and lend a hand on the pitch. The following day’s event was open to the general public as Mike Jones and Tim Ream made an appearance to hang out with fans during the day. Goalkeeper Frank Rost was also on hand to greet visitors.

Fans in attendance were quick to snap photos and Tweet about the event. Take for example this photo of Tim Ream with three of his younger fans, this one from inside the locker room in front of Stephen Keel’s locker and soccer’s future posing for pic on the Red Bulls' runway.

A special thanks goes out to all the fans who came to Red Bull Arena this weekend to hang out with the players, take some penalty kicks and snap a few photos. Here’s to great times in 2011, and even greater ones ahead in 2012.
