Bill Gaudette Up for Save of the Week

How's this for a hearty welcome to the Red Bulls? Fresh off his first start for the Red Bulls less than two days after he made the move to New York, newly acquired goalkeeper Bill Gaudette is in the running for's Save of the Week. Gaudette's save came in the 32nd minute of Sunday's match against the Sounders, when Seattle's Eddie Johnson went wide with a pass from Alvaro Fernandez, cut inside toward goal and let loose with a shot that was primed to hit the far post and slip behind Gaudette. But it was not to be, as a diving Gaudette made a full extension and placed enough of a hand on the ball to set it over the crossbar and out, saving what would have been a sure goal. Watch a replay here, and be sure to vote for Bill's save:

Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursday.
