The Red Bulls Academy sides were back in action this weekend for the first time since the Fall/Winter break, combining for a perfect 7-0 weekend to kick off the second half of the season.

The U-13s claimed the first U.S. Soccer futsal pre-academy tournament, hosted by the Philadelphia Union this past weekend. The Red Bulls paved the way to victory with easy wins over Albertson and Potomac Saturday, before beating the Union on Sunday to advance to the semifinals. From there, the Red Bulls defeated Delco to advance to the championship game, where they beat Gottschee to claim the top spot in the tournament.

In U16 action, the Red Bulls beat South Central on Saturday thanks to strong outings from Dante Perez, who scored four goals and added two assists, Anthony Viteri, who potted two and assisted on one, and Malcolm Dixon, who found the back of the net once and assisted on two. In goal, Gianni Carillo and Alek Gogic combined for the shutout.

And finally, the Red Bulls’ U-18 side remained undefeated on the year thanks to a 2-1 win at South Central. New York slid into an early 1-0 hole after allowing a goal in the fifth minute, and carried that deficit into halftime. But in the second half New York were quick to sure up the defense and rebound offensively to turn things around when Alex Muyl picked up his team-leading 11th goal of the season on a slick pass from midfielder Erik Sa. With the score level and time ticking down, it was Izzy Tandir who came up big in the 82nd minute to score his ninth of the season and power the Red Bulls to a strong 2-1 victory.
