HONORING BOSTON

The New York Red Bulls will honor the city Boston and victims in this week's tragedy at the Boston Marathon with a series of events surrounding Saturday's match.

The club will donate its total net revenues from merchandise sales from Saturday’s match to The One Fund Boston (OneFundBoston.org).

Leading up to the match, the  club’s South Ward supporters will march into Red Bull Arena alongside the New England Revolution supporters, displaying the banner that they used during Wednesday's match against Sporting Kansas City.

The MLS Anthem, heard in stadiums throughout the league as players enter the pitch, will be replaced this Saturday by The Standells’ “Dirty Water,” a song that has a direct tie to Boston sports.

Red Bulls players will wear black armbands to honor the Boston Marathon victims.

The Red Bull Arena Color Guard will fly the Boston flag as part of the match procession.

POLICY CHANGE AT RED BULL ARENA

Please note that due to Monday’s events, fans will not be permitted to bring food or drinks into Red Bull Arena for the April 20th match.

In addition, you will notice a more vigilant check-in process when entering the Arena, so please plan for entry to move a little slower than usual. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes, but it is being done with everyone's safety in mind.

ABOUT THE MATCH

New York wraps up a span in which it plays three games in eight days with its showdown versus the Revolution. The Red Bulls started a two-match homestand with a 1-0 loss to defending Eastern Conference regular season champion Sporting Kansas City. The loss kept New York at eight points off a 2-4-2 record.

The Revolution (1-2-2, 5 pts.) is coming off a 0-0 tie away from home against Seattle Sounders FC last Saturday. While the Revs have only conceded a league-low two goals this year, New England has found the back of the net just once through Honduran forward Jerry Bengtson in its 1-0 season-opening victory over the Chicago Fire on March 9 at TOYOTA Park. New York has a 19-26-13 record against New England, going 15-8-7 at home and a perfect 3-0 at Red Bull Arena. The Red Bulls were 1-1-1 versus the Revs in 2012, most recently tying 1-1 on Sept. 22 at Gillette Stadium.

The teams will play two other times this year: on May 11 at Gillette Stadium and on Oct. 5 at Red Bull Arena.
