ABOUT THE MATCH | ||
New York wraps up a span in which it plays three games in eight days with its showdown versus the Revolution. The Red Bulls started a two-match homestand with a 1-0 loss to defending Eastern Conference regular season champion Sporting Kansas City. The loss kept New York at eight points off a 2-4-2 record. The Revolution (1-2-2, 5 pts.) is coming off a 0-0 tie away from home against Seattle Sounders FC last Saturday. While the Revs have only conceded a league-low two goals this year, New England has found the back of the net just once through Honduran forward Jerry Bengtson in its 1-0 season-opening victory over the Chicago Fire on March 9 at TOYOTA Park. New York has a 19-26-13 record against New England, going 15-8-7 at home and a perfect 3-0 at Red Bull Arena. The Red Bulls were 1-1-1 versus the Revs in 2012, most recently tying 1-1 on Sept. 22 at Gillette Stadium. The teams will play two other times this year: on May 11 at Gillette Stadium and on Oct. 5 at Red Bull Arena. | ||
