Kicking + Screening (K+S) Soccer Film Festival, the world's premier series of cultural events dedicated solely to the beautiful game, is thrilled to announce the New York Red Bulls as partners for the third year in a row.
K+S NEW YORK 2013, our 5th annual festival in the Big Apple, will take place June 18 through June 21 at the world-famous Tribeca Cinemas.
“The reality is, the Red Bulls represent the epitome of soccer in New York City,” K+S cofounder and director Greg Lalas said. “With stars like Thierry Henry, Tim Cahill, and Dax McCarty, they are a world-class club. But beyond the game, they has also shown a dedication to supporting the soccer culture that is currently exploding in the City, a creative and artistic movement that K+S is very much a part of.”
K+S NEW YORK 2013 features four nights of world-class films, including on Tuesday, June 18, Football Rebels, starring Eric Cantona; on Wednesday, June 19, Mundial: The Highest Stakes, the incredible story of the 1982 Polish World Cup team; and on Thursday, June 20, Tres Millones, a musical, off-beat inside look at Uruguay’s 2010 World Cup campaign.
The Red Bulls will support with grassroots, in-stadium, social media, TV and web site promotion of the festival and focus their efforts around the closing night film, Tim Cahill: The Unseen Journey, on Friday, June 21. The film, directed by Steven Sander, follows current Red Bulls player and Australian international Tim Cahill in the lead-up to the 2010 World Cup. In addition, members of the New York Red Bulls will introduce each film with a special message to all film goers. Other events on the evening include a panel discussion, special appearance by the New York Red Bulls Street Team, potential celebrity appearances, and the annual K+S/Howler Magazine Trivia Challenge.
