Eric Alexander’s second goal of the season, as he sliced and diced his way through the Montreal defense then finished his run with a left-footed shot, has been nominated for MLS Goal of the Week for Week 20.
Alexander’s tally came in the tenth minute off a great run set up by Thierry Henry in the midfield, who deked two defenders and sent it along to Alexander. From there, Alexander then split four defenders before firing a rocket on goal that singed the back of the net and put the Red Bulls up 1-0. His tally sparked the Red Bulls offense, as the club would later add three more against the Impact en route to 4-0 clean sheet victory Saturday night at Red Bull Arena.
