HARRISON, N.J. (March 30, 2015) – The New York Red Bulls have reached agreement with Columbia University for the organization’s USL side, New York Red Bulls II, to play games at the Baker Athletic Complex’s Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium on Columbia’s campus.

“Columbia has welcomed us with open arms,” said Red Bulls II General Manager Shaun Oliver. “It provides our team with a great facility and a chance for our fans to see us play in a more intimate setting. We look forward to Columbia being a home away from home for New York Red Bulls II.”

New York Red Bulls II will play home matches at both Red Bull Arena and Columbia over the course of the USL season.

The first match at Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium will be on May 17 when Red Bulls II host Charleston Battery.

The 3,100 seat stadium is easily accessible by public transportation, and just a short walk from the 215th street station stop for the 1 train.

New York Red bulls II were created ahead of the 2015 season to serve as another platform of the Red Bulls player development model. The USL side will serve as a bridge between the Red Bulls youth programs – camps, clinics and program partnerships, the Regional Development Schools, and the Red Bulls Academy system, widely regarded as one of the best youth soccer academies in the nation – and the Red Bulls first team.

The team, coached by former MetroStars and Red Bulls midfielder John Wolyniec, opened its inaugural season over the weekend with a 0-0 draw against the Rochester Rhinos at Red Bull Arena. NYRB II is back in action on Saturday, April 4th, with a match against Toronto FC II at 3:30 at Red Bull Arena.
