HARRISON, N.J. (September 7, 2016) – New York Red Bulls II forward Junior Flemmings will miss the remainder of the USL season after undergoing successful left medial meniscus surgery on Thursday, September 1, the club announced today.

The 20-year-old native of Kingston, Jamaica, enjoyed a successful first season with Red Bulls II since signing on March 25, 2016. Flemmings played 23 USL games, in which he amassed seven goals and four assists in 1,756 minutes. He was honored as a member of the Week 21 USL Team of the Week and made his First Team debut for the Red Bulls in a friendly against Club América as a second half substitute.

At the international level, Flemmings was named to Jamaica’s 40-man provisional roster for the Copa America Centenario. The forward was also called into Jamaica National Team camp in February 2016.

The 20-year-old received his first Jamaican senior team call up in November 2015, and was named to the 18-player match roster for Jamaica’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Panama, but was an unused substitute. Flemmings participated in 2016 Olympic Qualifying with the Jamaica U-23 National Team and represented the Jamaica U-20s at the 2015 CONCACAF U-20 Championship in Jamaica. He also captained the Jamaica U-17 team at the 2013 CONCACAF U-17 Championship.
