Welcome Evan Louro RBNY

HARRISON, N.J. (January 23, 2017) ā€“ The New York Red Bulls have signed goalkeeper Evan Louro as a Homegrown Player, the club announced today. Louro, a Red Bulls academy product, joins the Red Bulls after three seasons of college soccer at the University of Michigan.

ā€œEvan is another great example of an academy player that worked hard through the Red Bulls system, playing in college and continuing with the Red Bulls U-23s in the Summer,ā€ said Red Bulls head coach Jesse Marsch. ā€œWe look forward to him being a part of the goalkeeper competition.ā€

Louro, a native of South River, N.J., finished his college career with 46 appearances, 4,248 minutes played and a 1.17 Goals Against Average. He totaled 155 saves and 12 shutouts.

As a sophomore, he recorded a career-best 1.05 Goals Allowed Average, which ranks No. 2 in single-season program history, and seven clean sheets. As a freshman, the goalkeeper recorded a team-high 28 saves and tied for most wins and shutouts. His breakout rookie season earned him a call-up to the U.S. U-20 Menā€™s National Team Camp.

The Saint John Vianney graduate has played on numerous levels of the U.S. Youth National Teams since 2009, and has been involved with the Red Bulls academy since 2008, and helped the Red Bulls U-16 to a U.S. Soccer Development Academy championship in 2012.
