Aurelien Collin ‘Ready’ for Potential Open Cup Return

Aurelien Collin

After missing seven games with an injury, it appears defender Aurelien Collin will be ready to play in the Red Bulls’ Open Cup match against NYCFC.

“Aurelien’s ready,” head coach Jesse Marsch said after training on Thursday. “He’ll be ready for Wednesday.”

Collin suffered an abdominal strain during training in late April and Marsch confirmed that he is back in ‘full training.’

The defender said he practiced with NYRB II on Wednesday and feels ‘great physically.’

“Today I felt great. I’m very happy to be back,” Collin said. “It’s always the decision of the coach, but right now if he asks me to play, right now I’m ready.”

Prior to his injury, Collin has played five matches this season, including four starts, for a total 324 minutes with the Red Bulls.
