GOLD CUP: Lawrence’s Goal Sends Jamaica to 2017 Gold Cup Finals

New York Red Bulls defender Kemar Lawrence scored the game-winning goal for Jamaica to defeat Mexico, 1-0.





After 87 minutes of scoreless soccer, Lawrence stepped up for Jamaica on a free kick opportunity, earned by Michael Binns.


From approximately 25-yards out, the defender blasted the free kick into the top-left corner of the net to win the match for Jamaica and send the Reggae Boyz back to the Gold Cup Finals.





The 88th minute goal was Lawrence’s first of 2017 Gold Cup.


The defender started and played the full 90 minutes of the match.


Jamaica will face the United States at Levi’s Stadium on Wednesday, July 26, at 9:30 p.m. ET (TV: FS1, UDN).
