NYvCIN USL

MONTCLAIR, N.J. (August 19, 2017) – New York Red Bulls II (9-11-4, 31 points) scored four goals Saturday, their highest offensive output of the season, defeating FC Cincinnati (8-9-7, 31 points) 4-0 at MSU Soccer Park.

The win moves NYRB II level on points for seventh place in the USL Eastern Conference standings with wins being the first tiebreaker.

FCC, fresh off a defeat to the New York Red Bulls in the U.S. Open Cup semifinal, came out with some life as Senegalese striker Dijby struck the crossbar in the 10th minute.

NYRB II struck first as Noah Powder drew a penalty kick in the 23rd minute. Seconds later, Stefano Bonomo stepped up to the spot and slotted it home past a wrong-guessing Mitch Hildebrandt. The goal was Bonomo’s fourth in as many games.

Three minutes before halftime, a Zeiko Lewis in-swinger found the head off a NYRB II set piece to double the lead. It was Ndam’s first professional goal.

Hassan Ndam was sent off in the 65th minute of the match after being assessed two yellow cards in a span of three minutes.

Despite being down a man, NYRB II kept up the pressure in the offensive half of the pitch culminating in the 72nd minute as Junior Flemmings cut inside on his defender and ripped one past Hildebrandt.

Two minutes later, Flemmings would complete the brace finishing off a looping ball over the top from Kazu Shigenobu to put NYRB II up 4-0.

The match maintained its physicality all the way to the end as FCC saw Josu sent off in the 89th minute for two yellow cards.
