The New York Red Bulls inched closer to locking up a spot in the 2017 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs despite a loss to Toronto FC on Saturday night.

Jesse Marsch said the team needs to work on correcting their errors that lead to goals.

The Red Bulls fell behind 2-0, but Gonzalo Veron was able to lead a counterattack and grab one back before the half. Veron later was taken down in the 18 for a penalty kick that Daniel Royer converted to draw the game even.

Minutes later, Toronto was awarded a penalty kick of their own, and tacked one on late to secure the 2017 Supporters' Shield with the win.

"It’s a hard thing to understand how to clean up so, but I’m tasked with that," Marsch said. "I’ve got to help this group help themselves because there’s a lot of good things happening but a lot of things that small little errors that cost us in big ways."

Based on results around the Eastern Conference, New York only needs to win one of their final three games to secure a spot in the playoffs.

The Red Bulls return home for games against the Vancouver Whitecaps and Atlanta United at Red Bull Arena, before going on the road against D.C. United to close out regular-season play.
