Gonzalo Veron: 'We Will Get the Right Results'

Despite recent results not going the Red Bulls’ way, Gonzalo Veron has been a bright spot for New York.

Following a winless September for the club, Veron says the team have been unlucky not to come out with better results.

"We have been playing really well as a team, we just have not had the luck," Veron said. “We have to keep going this way, fix the mistakes and keep playing the same way and I think we will start getting more positive results than negative.”

After scoring off the bench in the Red Bulls’ matches against Columbus Crew SC and D.C. United, Veron got the start against Toronto FC last Saturday. Veron made the most of his start, scoring a goal during the Red Bulls’ 4-2 loss against the Eastern Conference-leaders.

The Argentine also went the distance for the first time in a match since August 18 against the Portland Timbers.

“I think it is always important to play 90 minutes and stay in the pace of the game,” Veron said.

The 27-year-old is not only staying in the pace of the game but finding his form as of late. Veron has recently lit up the stat-sheet over the past few games, scoring in three consecutive matches for the first time in his Red Bulls career.

While he continues to have his best performances of his tenure with the Red Bulls, the designated player is quite confident in the team heading into the final stretch of the regular season and most likely into the 2017 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs.

“We have a lot of faith, that at home versus Vancouver and the games that we have left, we will get the right results,” Veron said. “The playoffs are completely different games, and I am convinced that we will get to them on top form.”
