The New York Red Bulls are riding a short and timely unbeaten streak into the Audi 2017 MLS Cup Playoffs.

The Red Bulls recorded a 2-0-1 record in October, with the most important victory coming on the road against D.C. United as the club prepares for a must win road match in Chicago.

“It’s big. As a group, starting out this year, we weren’t that great on the road and we were able to find a couple of results in there,” Connor Lade said following Sunday’s win in D.C. “Any time you’re on the road, you know you’re in for a different kind of game…it’s going to be a battle more than anything, so this gives us a lot of momentum going forward.”

With a positive string of results heading into the Knockout Round, Luis Robles knows the key to victory in Chicago will be to put the game on their terms.

“When we play our game and we play aggressively and we play without abandon, I think this is when we play best,” Robles said. “We’re going to get chances and I believe that it’s going to be the same thing in Chicago if we play that way.”

Despite the difficult task as an underdog heading into a must win game in Chicago, Robles says the Red Bulls’ winning mentality and confidence on the pitch can lead to victory.

“The spirit within this locker room is great,” Robles said. “No matter what the task is, no matter who we play, no matter where we go, we have the capability to get a result. And that’s what I’m going to lean on going into Chicago.”
