By The Numbers: Stefano Bonomo

Stefano Bonomo continued his role as the attacking talisman for New York Red Bulls II in 2017, resulting in a first team contract with the New York Red Bulls. The 24-year-old proved to be one of the most lethal strikers in USL, becoming the main attacking option for Red Bulls II this season.



After a solid season, here are the numbers on the Red Bulls’ newest forward.


3: Bonomo led Red Bulls II in postseason goals, scoring three goals in their three playoff games. The former California Golden Bear also scored his penalty kick in Red Bulls II’s shootout loss against Louisville City in the semifinals of the 2017 USL Cup Playoffs.


4: The forward netted four out of four penalty kicks on the season for NYRB II, ending the season with a perfect 100% penalty-kick conversion rate.


13: Bonomo led Red Bulls II with 13 goals scored in 16 games played. Bonomo also nabbed two assists on the season to add to his double-digit goal tally.


56.5%: Out of his 23 shots on target this season, Bonomo found the back of the net 13 times, bringing his shot-on-target to goal ratio to 56.5%.


101.6: Bonomo netted 13 goals in only 15 starts, earning an impressive 101.6 minutes-to-goal ratio on the season.
