Match Preview: NYRB II Set to Host Birmingham Legion FC

HARRISON, N.J. (April 30, 2019) – New York Red Bulls II will host Birmingham Legion FC on May 1 at MSU Soccer Park. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. ET and can be seen live on ESPN+.


NYRB II are coming off a comeback victory against Indy Eleven on Sunday afternoon. Midfielder Vincent Bezecourt was fouled in the penalty box, and Jared Stroud equalized the match from the penalty spot in the 60th minute. Forward Tom Barlow scored the game-winner in the 69th minute. He now has seven goals this season, which is tied for first in the USL Championship.


NYRB II and Birmingham Legion FC will face off for the first time. They met on April 6, but the game was abandoned due to weather in the 16th minute of action. Birmingham's home match against NYRB II is rescheduled for October 16, with kick-off set for 8 p.m. ET.


Birmingham Legion FC won their first-ever home match against Loudoun United FC on Saturday. Prosper Kasim scored the lone goal in stoppage time. They are currently on a four-match unbeaten streak.


Following Wednesday’s match, NYRB II will travel to face Ottawa Fury FC on May 8, with kick-off set for 10:30 a.m. ET.
