Jørgensen: 'I'm Growing More Each Day'

Jørgensen | 5/1/19

On Wednesday night, New York Red Bulls forward Mathias Jørgensen scored a brace in his third appearance with NYRB II. Despite the goals, Jørgensen believes he could have helped his teammates more.

“I think in a game like this one, the two goals are okay, and I helped my teammates, but I can help my teammates more in a game like this.”

Jørgensen scored in the 57th minute and the 81st minute in NYRB II’s 5-0 victory over Birmingham Legion F.C. He has made five appearances for the New York Red Bulls.

“I am growing more and more every day. From the training pitch to the match pitch, I am growing every time I come onto the pitch,” Jørgensen said.

He has now recorded three goals in as many games for NYRB II. “I think it is a big step. It is a big step to get into a new country and to see the playing style in this country. It is more physical than in Denmark, but I think it is step by step in training and grow every time I come to training.”

Jørgensen has been growing every match and despite him being only 18 years old, he keeps gaining more confidence every match.

“Of course, I am happy, and goals give confidence and confidence gives more goals, and I hope to keep going,” Jørgensen said.
