  • New York Red Bulls II (16-5-5, 53 points) defeated Swope Park Rangers on Saturday night at Children’s Mercy Park.
  • Midfielder Sean McSherry made his first professional start and first appearance since May 18 against the Tampa Bay Rowdies.  
  • McSherry opened up the scoring in the 7th minute, recording his first career professional goal. He would then score his second in the 40th minute to give New York the lead.
  • Defender Janos Loebe recorded his fifth and sixth assists of the season.
  • Defender Edgardo Rito would extend NYRB II’s lead in the 45th minute, with his second goal of the season. Midfielder Chris Lema tallied his sixth assist of the season on the play.
  • Jared Stroud would record his team-leading 12th goal of the season in the 51st minute to increase NYRB II’s lead.
  • Midfielder Omar Sowe came on in the 65th minute to make his first career professional appearance.
  • Amarildo de Souza would round out the scoring when he scored his first goal of the season in stoppage time of the second half.
