Academy Match Recap: 11/4

The U-12ā€™s traveled to Philadelphia to take on Toronto FC, while the older teams traveled to face Players Developmental Academy (PDA) this weekend in Zarephath, New Jersey.


Red Bulls U-19ā€™s defeated PDA U-19ā€™s, 2-0.

The U-19ā€™s finished the fall season on a four-match unbeaten streak and in second place in the standings. They defeated PDA U-19ā€™s, 2-0. Diogo Rebelo recorded a brace with goals in the 35th and 60th minute. The first one was assisted by Jake Lacava, while the second one was assisted by Sal Esposito. Rebelo was named Man of the Match and finished the fall season the leading goal scorer with seven. The U-19ā€™s will be playing friendlies in the month of November in preparation for the DA Cup Playoffs in the beginning of December.


Red Bulls U-17ā€™s tied PDA U-17ā€™s, 1-1.

 The U-17ā€™s played to a 1-1 draw against PDA U-17ā€™s. They got on the board early after Joey Zalinsky scored his second goal of the season off a pass from Serge Ngoma. PDA would earn a penalty kick late in the first half and convert to level the match. The U-17ā€™s had several chances in the second half but could not find the game-winning goal. Justin Aguirre was named Man of the Match.


Red Bulls U-15ā€™s defeated PDA U-15ā€™s, 3-0.

 The U-15ā€™s won their fourth match in a row, when they defeated PDA U-15ā€™s, 3-0. Luciano Sanchez continued his recent form, scoring his seventh goal of the season in the 55th minute off a cross from Jamie Lucas.  The U-15ā€™s gave up a penalty a few minutes later, but Dreni Idrizi saved it to keep his team in the lead. Arian Recinos doubled the lead in the 74th minute off a pass from Harrison Neill. Luke Ayaz scored his first goal of the season in the 77th minute off a cross from Recinos. Paul Smajlaj was named Man of the Match for his defensive efforts.


Red Bulls U-14ā€™s defeated PDA U-14ā€™s, 2-0.

The U-14ā€™s continued their great season extending their unbeaten streak to eight games, including two wins in a row. They recorded their first goal in the 20th minute, when Patrick Shaw found Lenny Aviles down the sideline, then Aviles crossed the ball in the box, where Andrew Baptiste scored his third goal of the season. Right before halftime, Copeland Berkley scored his first goal of the season, which was assisted by Henry Wetson. Patrick Vanvulanee made a couple big saves to keep the U-14ā€™s in the lead. They recorded their fifth shutout of the season and Victor Signes was named Man of the Match.


Red Bulls U-13ā€™s defeated PDA U-13ā€™s, 1-0.

The U-13ā€™s recorded their third win in four matches, with a 1-0 victory over PDA U-13ā€™s.  Henry Telakowski came off the bench to score his first goal of the season and the game-winner in the 28th minute. Jonathan Genao was credited with the assist on the goal. Jeffery Bryjack was named Man of the Match for the third straight match.


Red Bulls U-12ā€™s defeated Toronto FC U-12ā€™s, 9-4.

The U-12ā€™s scored 9 goals and defeated Toronto FC U-12ā€™s. The U-12ā€™s played a great match, but in the beginning, Toronto proved to be a very physical team that made it tough on the U-12ā€™s. They found most of the possession and found many chances on goal. Olumayowa Ajayi was named Man of the Match.


The U-12ā€™s will be traveling down to Miami to participate in the Villarreal Yellow Cup this weekend, while the U-15ā€™s, U-17ā€™s, and U-19ā€™s will travel to face Bethesda SC for the second time this season.
