HARRISON, N.J. (December 19, 2019) - New York Red Bulls II have re-acquired Venezuelan defender Edgardo Rito on loan from Venezuelan side Fundacion Yaracuyanos FC pending league and federation approval, the club announced today.

Rito, 24, appeared in 22 matches and amassed 1,476 minutes this past season for NYRB II. He scored his first professional goal against Atlanta United 2 on June 7, he added one more goal and an assist.

Prior to NYRB II, he appeared in 23 matches with 1,941 minutes across all competitions in Venezuela. The defender played in 15 Torneo Calusura matches and six Torneo Apertura matches in Venezuela’s first division.

“We are very happy to have [Edgardo] Rito back with the club for another year,” Head Coach John Wolyniec said. “He showed a lot of potential before the injury and we know that when he returns, he will pick up right where he left off.”

The El Vigia, Venezuela native suffered a left ankle dislocation on September 27, which ended his season.
