New York Red Bulls center back Aaron Long started and played 62 minutes in the United States' 1-0 win over Costa Rica on Saturday, February 1.

Long sported the captain's armband while on the pitch, for the third time in red, white and blue, helping USMNT keep a clean sheet for the match. USMNT is 3-0-0 when Long is captain.

Ulysses Llanez Jr. scored his first goal for the US, from the spot, as the eventual game-winner.

Long has been at January Camp with the national team since early January and is expected to rejoin the Red Bulls soon.

New York will depart for their second preseason stint, in Tucson, Arizona, on February 10.
