CHECKING IN: David Jensen

David Jensen Cincy

With the current 2020 MLS season on pause, the New York Red Bulls’ coaches, staff and players have no choice but to train from home. This will be a time for them to try new things, but to also stay active and ready for when everything returns to normalcy.

Goalkeeper David Jensen shared with us what he has been up to in recent days:

What are you doing with the time available?

Well, first of all, we’re trying to get the best out of the situation. We know it’s a very hard time for everyone at the moment. I mean, what to do, right? I have my daily running program from the club I have to follow. When that’s done, I just hang out with my girls. We’re painting, we’re dancing in the living room, we’re playing hide and seek, you know, funny stuff for the little one.

The thing we’ve been doing a lot is getting some fresh air. We believe that’s healthy and safe in these times. We found a big area where we aren’t close to anyone. We know the drill and the rules. It’s just important for Felina, our two-year-old daughter, to get some fresh air.

What are you specifically working on?

I’m working on my normal physical shape. There is no time for lacking the basics, so the running shoes have never shined as much as they do now. I bought some cones, so I can keep working on the “fast feet” through those cones, that’s important.

How are you staying in shape?

Again, a lot of running, healthy diet, and drinking a lot of water. That’s the key in these times.

Message to the supporters

Just have in mind, we’re missing the game and the joy of this beautiful game as much as you guys do. We have to fight this, and get through this. Don’t get too close to people, and you probably heard this a million times, but hygiene is so important. Use your common sense and take care. See you on the other side!
