Omir Fernandez and Kazuyoshi Shigenobu called into U.S. U-18 camp

HARRISON, N.J. – Omid Namazi, head coach of the United States Under-18 Men’s National Team, has called up two Red Bulls academy players, Omir Fernandez and Kazuyoshi Shigenobu, to Florida for a domestic training camp.


Both players are members of the Red Bulls U-16 team, which is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation. Fernandez, a native of Bronx, N.Y., has scored 13 goals in 13 matches, while Shigenobu, a native of Ridgewood, N.J., has recorded one goal and six assists in 12 games played.


Namazi and his coaching staff called a total of 36 players to the camp which lasts from Jan. 17-23.
