HARRISON, N.J. (February 10, 2023) – New York Red Bulls II have signed midfielder Henry Wise to an MLS NEXT Pro contract, pending league and federation approval, the club announced today.
Wise, 23, signed with Red Bulls II on August 11, 2022. He started all four matches that he appeared in and logged 257 minutes with the club. The midfielder made his club debut on September 21, 2022, against Detroit City FC.
“We are happy to have Henry as part of our first MLS NEXT Pro team,” Sporting Director Denis Hamlett said. “After getting some experience with the team last season, we are looking forward to seeing how he continues to develop in his second season with us.”
Prior to joining New York, Wise spent time with Watford F.C.’s U-23’s, while also logging an appearance in the FA Cup with the senior team. Wise’s youth career featured stops at Arsenal F.C., Queens Park Rangers F.C., and Derby County FC.
“Henry has a lot of good qualities as a midfielder, and we think he will have an impact with us this season,” Head Coach Ibrahim Sekagya said. “We are looking forward to seeing him get more experience with the group.”
