The New York Red Bulls (13-6-2, 41 pts.) welcome Los Angeles Football Club (10-5-6, 36 pts.) to Red Bull Arena for their inaugural matchup, pres. by Audi. The two sides will meet for the first time on Sunday, August 5 at 6 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on FS1 and available on New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish.

BWP100
The club will recognize Bradley Wright-Phillips' record of becoming the fastest player to score 100 MLS regular season goals, doing so in just 159 games. BWP set the record in the Red Bulls' 1-0 victory over D.C. United on July 25.
Following the conclusion of the match, there will be a special presentation to Wright-Phillips, including highlights of his best goals and video messages from past coaches, teammates and others. The ceremony will be capped off with a special message from the club. Fans will also receive a commemorative poster, celebrating Wright-Phillips’ record as they leave the arena.
Two Top Teams
This matchup "will be special," according to Kaku.

"I know our group will be up for it," Sean Davis said. "We’re going to be very motivated, especially at home with a weeks rest, so we’re all looking forward to it.”

The upstart LAFC squad, coached by New Jersey's own and former MetroStars head coach, Bob Bradley, are off to an impressive start in their first season in MLS.

LAFC's Carlos Vela will wear the Captain's armband for the MLS All-Stars on Wednesday night against Juventus, leading a team that included Tyler Adams, Michael Amir Murillo, Aaron Long and Wright-Phillips. LAFC will also have Laurent Ciman on the roster for the All-Star Game.
Just days later, the one-time-teammates will meet for the biggest matchup of the week in MLS regular season play.
