Brooklyn Italians Soccer Club at Red Bulls Training Facility

The Brooklyn Italians Soccer Club U-15 age group that is heading to the USL Academy Cup at the end of this month was invited to Red Bulls Training Facility to play the Academy’s U-14’s as a warmup to the event.

Alan Cantillo, U-15 Head Coach, Brooklyn Italians Soccer Club:

"We would like to thank the New York Red Bulls Academy for hosting us at Red Bulls Training Facility last week. It was an unbelievable experience for our boys. The speed of play from the Red Bulls Academy U-14’s team was amazing, and this is exactly what our team needed as we continue to prepare for the USL Academy Cup at the end of the month.”

Antonio Superbia Jr., Director of Coaching, Brooklyn Italians Soccer Club:

"It was a great experience for our U-15’s to be the first group of players to ever play against a New York Red Bulls Academy team. Our boys were tested and pushed out of their comfort zone due to the unique fast paced and high-pressure playing style of the Red Bulls philosophy.”

Grant Findlay, Academy Manager, New York Red Bulls:

“It was great to host Brooklyn Italians Soccer Club for the first time at Red Bulls Training Facility to play against our U-14’s. The second half performance from the Brooklyn Italians players was very encouraging as they demonstrated a resilience to narrow the deficit from half-time, an aptitude to take on board and implement the feedback and instructions from the coaching staff, and by playing with a Red Bull-like grit, determination, and work ethic to compete to the final whistle.

We wish the club’s 2007-08 age group all the very best in upcoming USL Academy Cup in Tampa, Florida. If they perform like they did in the second half for the entirety of each game, then they will represent both themselves and the club in a very positive light.”

As part of the MLS Youth Affiliation network, New York Red Bulls Academy and the Brooklyn Italians Soccer Club will continue to collaborate closely on many upcoming elite level player identification and development initiatives including RDS Talent Centers, RDS Goalie Wars, RDS camps, standalone 1-day talent identification events, and club tryouts.
