eMLS: George Adamou Moves on to eMLS Cup Semifinals

George Adamou

George Adamou stays undefeated in eMLS Cup play.

The New York Red Bulls eMLS player is now 5-0-0 in eMLS Cup play, dating back to 2020, following his 2-1 victory over Doolsta of Nashville SC on Saturday.

Adamou is back on the sticks on Sunday as he takes on the winner of KingCJ of D.C. United and Godfather of LA Galaxy.

The Queens native is the current reigning champion of eMLS Cup, having beating NYCFC's eMLS rep in eMLS Cup 2020.

Adamou finished second in the 2021 versions of eMLS League Series One, but failed to make the playoffs in League Series Two. Despite that, due to his strong performance in LS1, he was ranked third heading into eMLS Cup.

eMLS Cup is the final of three eMLS competitions in 2021, following League Series One and League Series Two. Matches will be played on EA SPORTS FIFA 21 exclusively on PlayStation 4, and the winner will receive a cash prize of $20,000. The second-place finisher gets $10,000, while those in third and fourth place both get $5,000.

The quarterfinals, semifinals and final occur on March 21, at 3 pm ET. Fans can watch via TwitchTwitterYouTube, and Facebook, as well as MLSsoccer.com and the free MLS App.
