New York Red Bulls eMLS player George Adamou is heading to the League Series One Semifinals following a 11-2 rout of Vancouver Whitecaps FC's Skill Shack. Adamou is undefeated through all League Series One play.
Adamou dropped seven goals in Leg 1 of the quarterfinals matchup, followed up by four more goals in Leg 2.
Adamou entered the quarterfinals with the stingiest defense through qualifying, allowing just 11 goals in 14 matches. He's now allowed just 13 goals, while scoring 47.
He'll take on Toronto FC's Phil B on Sunday, January 17 at 3 PM ET in the semifinals. If he wins, he will play again on Sunday for the League Series One Championship.
Adamou entered the 2021 season as the top-ranked Playstation player in eMLS Power Rankings.
Adamou, a Queens native, joined RBNY’s eMLS team last December after breaking onto the scene and climbing the FIFA Global Series rankings to be the top-ranked American on PlayStation for FIFA 20. Adamou continued his rise throughout 2020, making it to the final of eMLS League Series One before lifting the eMLS Cup in June, beating cross-town rival NYCFC’s eMLS Player, Chris Holly, in the final.
