The Football Factory at Legends, home to a number of Red Bulls viewing parties, has announced it will be unveiling a soccer museum on Tues., Mar. 27, at 7pm.

The idea started with one gift; a 2010 Red Bulls jersey signed by Thierry Henry. Since then, nearly 100 additional pieces ranging from World Cup jerseys to signed soccer balls and team photos were collected from various supporters groups and memorabilia houses. The entire collection will be on display at the Football Factory, 6 W 33rd St. between 6th and 5th avenues in New York City.

Robert Kennerney, the Football Factory’s Marketing and Social Media Manager, said this is just the starting point of what he expects will one day make the Football Factory the ultimate go-to source for historic soccer memorabilia. Or as Kennerney put it, “It’s just about providing a home for soccer fans in the United States.”

U.S. memorabilia will specifically be highlighted, as the entire third floor will be dedicated to not only national team history but also MLS teams. Visiting teams who face the Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena will be invited to share their history and add to the collection with the overall goal of having all 19 MLS sides accounted for. The Colorado Rapids, who come to town for the Mar. 25 home opener, have already agreed to donate an item.

There is no charge for browsing the collection at the Football Factory. The main goal, Kennerney says, is to add to the soccer atmosphere.

Just last season, the Football Factory at Legends set the stage for the highest-attended viewing party in MLS history, as over 400 fans were on hand to watch the Red Bulls defeat FC Dallas 1-0 on Sept. 17.
