After being named the 16th Head Coach in New York Red Bulls history on Friday, Chris Armas will coach his first game, against New York City FC in the New York Derby, and look to extend the Red Bulls league play winning streak to four games.
Armas' group though will have to take on NYCFC without the services of Florian Valot, who suffered an injury earlier in the week, which means Alex Muyl gets his second straight start for the Red Bulls.
Bradley Wright-Phillips, will serve as the teams' striker, and will be alongside Danny Royer, who returns to the Starting XI after missing the match against Toronto last week, after being issued a red card against FC Dallas on June 23.
Tyler Adams and Sean Davis, will occupy the Red Bulls’ central defensive midfield.
Captain Luis Robles will be between the posts, with the backline being anchored by Connor Lade, Tim Parker, Kemar Lawrence, and Aaron Long.
Kaku will also be on the pitch for the starting whistle, too.
Fidel Escobar and Michael Amir Murillo have returned, after competing in the 2018 FIFA World Cup with the Panama, and will be available as subs.
Ryan Meara will serve as the backup goalkeeper, with Aurélien Collin, Derrick Etienne, Jr., Ethan Kutler and Marc Rzatkowski are also available as subs.
The Red Bulls and New York City FC kick off at 7 p.m. on FS1 and FOX Sports GO, as well as on New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish on TuneIn.
