The New York Red Bulls are proud to announce to two great digital features ahead of the 2013 season.

On Mon., Feb. 4, the Red Bulls released a ticketing app developed by their partner, AudienceView, that allows Facebook fans to buy and reserve seats on the social networking site. The social integration of AVTiki makes the Red Bulls the first professional sports team to implement this technology. Fans who ‘like’ the Red Bulls on Facebook can now buy tickets for themselves and reserve seats for up to 24 hours. If the purchaser reserves tickets, they can send a special link to friends and family to access and buy those same reserved seats, so as to ensure they all sit in the same section and row during the match.

This technology kicked off with a special 24-hour pre-sale window for the team’s Mar. 16 home opener, available only to Facebook fans. Tickets went on sale to the general public Tues., Feb. 5, at 10am. New York will continue to offer special, limited ticket promotions through their Facebook page throughout the season.

In addition to the ticket-purchasing app on Facebook, the Red Bulls have also released the full 2013 regular season schedule via ECAL. The function allows fans to download the schedule to mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone), in addition to email and calendar options such as MS Outlook and Lotus Notes, along with Apple iCal, Google Calendar, Yahoo! Calendar, Windows Live/Vista Calendar, and AOL Calendar.

ECAL keeps fans up to date and connected to the team by providing up-to-the-minute changes, whether it’s a change in start time, an additional friendly match added to the schedule at a later date, or postseason dates/times. The fan simply has to download the ECAL once, and the rest will automatically update whenever changes are made. No need to download again.

The ECAL is available at both NewYorkRedBulls.com/ecal and as an app on the Red Bulls’ Facebook page.
