Forward Jake Lacava has had the opportunity to partake in the first team’s first preseason camp being held at Red Bulls Training Facility.
“The first week of preseason camp has been great,” Lacava said. “It has been exciting to get started and see all the hard work from the offseason start to pay off.”
The 20-year-old has the chance to learn and gain some advice from some first team players that have been in his shoes in previous years, making the jump from New York Red Bulls II.
“It is great having a chance to train and play with some of the older and more experienced players,” Lacava said. “Especially guys like Florian [Valot] who have made the jump and been in my shoes before. I’m able to learn from them every day just seeing them in training and watching how they play.”
With the new season on the horizon, Lacava is ready to make the most of the opportunity he has right now in front of him.
“I think the biggest message being said is how big of an opportunity there is at the club right now,” Lacava said. “Everyone is fighting extra hard to earn their spot this year and that anything is possible if you work hard and perform your best.”
