The New York Red Bulls (0-0-0, 0 pts.) will open the 2024 Major League Soccer season on Sunday, February 25 against Nashville SC at GEODIS Park. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. ET with coverage on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV in English and Spanish and New York Red Bulls Radio in English via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.

Tony Husband will have the primary play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Ross Smith on the English side, while Alejandro Figueredo will have the play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Jamie Macias on the Spanish side. New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 4:30 p.m. ET with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley.

This will be the fifth overall meeting between New York and Nashville, with the Red Bulls holding the advantage in the series at 2-0-2. This will be New York’s 29th season opener and they have posted a record of 13-10-5 in season opening matches. The last time the two clubs faced each other was on 2023 MLS Decision Day, where New York won 1-0 in the closing seconds after defender John Tolkin buried a penalty kick to send the Red Bulls to the postseason for the 14th consecutive season, which is the longest streak in MLS history.

The Red Bulls have added Swedish international Emil Forsberg to their roster for the 2024 season from RB Leipzig, which plays in the Bundesliga. Forsberg made 325 appearances across all competitions for Leipzig, while recording 71 goals and 68 assists. He won two DfB Pokal's and a German Super Cup with Leipzig. Forsberg has made 86 international appearances for Sweden, where he has scored 21 goals. During preseason, he recorded two goals and three assists for New York. 

Following Sunday’s match, New York remain on the road to face off against Houston Dynamo FC on Saturday, March 2.
