HARRISON, N.J. (June 26, 2016) – New York Red Bulls II earned a 4-0 nothing victory over the Wilmington Hammerheads on Sunday afternoon at Red Bull Arena. Homegrown Player Brandon Allen got the game-winner, while Aaron Long, Stefano Bonomo and Junior Flemmings added second half goals. Ryan Meara earned his XX shutout of the season.

NYRB II is now 9-1-4 on the season and undefeated in eight games (6-2-0).

Allen put New York ahead in the 20th minute. Allen was played into the box on a backheel pass from fellow Homegrown player Derrick Etienne Jr., and was able to take a touch around the keeper and finish into the empty net.

Long doubled the advantage in the 77th minute, heading home a cross from Florian Valot. It was Valot’s debut after signing to NYRB II yesterday. He entered the match as a substitute, replacing Etienne Jr. in the 73rd minute.

New York Red Bulls center back Damien Perrinelle was loaned to NYRB II for the match, and got his first game action since suffering a knee injury in the Eastern Conference Championship of the MLS Cup Playoffs back in November. Perrinelle started and played 35 minutes.

Stefano Bonomo earned a penalty in the 85th minute after he was taken down inside the penalty area. Bonomo took the attempt himself and converted for his second goal of the season.

Junior Flemmings got the fourth, finding himself all alone after Red Bulls Academy product Dan Metzger picked him out with a long ball forward.

Meara made three saves to keep the clean sheet, his sixth of the season and the team’s ninth in 14 games.

NYRB II is back in action with a home match against the Rochester Rhinos on Saturday, July 2. Kickoff at Red Bull Arena is scheduled for 4 p.m.
