Julian Hall scored his third goal of the season in Red Bull New York's 1-0 victory over New England Revolution on Saturday.
RBNY won their second match of the year, their first at Sports Illustrated Stadium.
Matthew Dos Santos played a give and go off a corner kick with Emil Forsberg, crossed the ball near post to Adri Mehmeti, who flicked a header far post inside the six-yard box to forward Hall who placed a shot bottom left corner.Â
The trio - Dos Santos (17), Mehmeti (16) and Hall (17) - combined to mark the first goal in MLS history where three players aged 17 or younger contriubuted to a single goal.
"They have their football and they have personality," Head Coach Michael Bradley said. "They are really talented young players. They have really good mentalities. They come every day ready to train, ready to work, ready to push themselves. We're really happy with the progress that they're making, we're really happy for them, that now, as they've gotten opportunities, they've showed how good they are. We're going to keep pushing them. We understand that with any young player, with any player in general, not every weekend is going to be perfect, not every game is going to be their best, but we're going to continue to find the right ways to help these guys and make sure they continue to take the next step."
The forward is the second-youngest player in club history to score in a home opener.
"I wouldn’t be able to score without my teammates," Hall said. "I think the chemistry of the team is at a really good level right now."
Mehmeti has tallied assist in back-to-back matches and is tied for most assists in MLS through the first two matches of the season. Mehmeti became the second-youngest player inÂ
MLSÂ history to record an assist in each of the opening two games of a season (Freddy Adu, 16 years and 310 days old).
Dos Santos recorded his first career MLS assist and is the fifth-youngest player to record an assist in club history at 17 years, 268 days old. Â The Sandy Hook, CT native is also the youngest defender to record an assist in club history.Â
With the victory, Red Bulls became the sixth team in franchise history to win their first two games of the season.
Bradley became the third coach in franchise history to win their first two games in charge of the club.
"This stadium is amazing," Bradley said. "The stadium itself, the environment, the atmosphere. It's a unique and special stadium, and  I've played a lot of games here, or I've been a part of a lot of games here as a player, typically, on the other end, with the national team, one or two where I got to experience the home support. But then I had my first taste last year of what it means to be on the right side of things in this in this stadium. And it's amazing. For the home opener, we wanted to make sure that we did everything we could to step on the field. To show the team that we want to be, and to show our football and to show our personality, and to make sure that everybody walking out of this stadium this afternoon leaves thinking to themselves that they got to come back."
New York will remain at Sports Illustrated Stadium to face off against CF Montréal on Sunday, March 8.
Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. ET with coverage on Apple TV in English and Spanish, and Red Bulls Radio in English via the Red Bull New York app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
