MATCH RECAP, pres. By Provident Bank: Lawrence, Robles, Inspire RBNY

The New York Red Bulls heaped more misery on Toronto FC on Sunday, riding a fluky early goal from Kemar Lawrence and a dominant goalkeeping display from Luis Robles to a 1-0 win at BMO Field.

Lawrence got the game-winner in the aftermath of an RBNY corner kick, directing a firmly-hit but seemingly manageable strike on frame that Alex Bono failed to handle cleanly, allowing the ball to skitter past him into the net. Yet it was Robles who played the hero for the visitors, making eight saves, several of them superb and the most important a denial of a late Sebastian Giovinco penalty kick.

The result represents more dropped points at home for TFC, who are now winless in their last three matches, 1-3-2 in their last five and eight points out of the Eastern Conference's playoff places as the season enters its stretch run.

Conversely, the Red Bulls have won three in a row and are keeping pace with East and overall MLS leaders Atlanta United.
