MATCH RECAP, pres. by Provident Bank: Rough Road Stretch Continues with Loss to LAFC

LAFCrecap

After starting the 2022 season unbeaten through six road matches, the New York Red Bulls have hit a rough stretch away from Red Bull Arena. New York has now lost three straight away matches, including Sunday's 2-0 loss to MLS Supporters' Shield leaders LAFC at Banc of California Stadium.

New York was without Luquinhas, Aaron Long, and Jason Pendant, who were all placed in Health and Safety protocols before Sunday's match.

The Red Bulls were able to hold LAFC to a scoreless draw at the half, but a 67th minute goal from Cristian Arango provided all that the home team would need. Diego Palacios then added a second in the 70th minute.

This is the third road match in a row that New York has lost 2-0.

The Red Bulls will have to have a short memory, as they host Eastern Conference foes Atlanta United at Red Bull Arena on Thursday.
