December 23rd, 2002 - Pope traded to MetroStars for familiar face
On December 23rd, 2002, Eddie Pope, along with Jaime Moreno and Richie Williams were traded to the MetroStars from D.C United in return for allocation, and current Red Bulls manager, Mike Petke.
Pope captained the MetroStars, and was named to the MLS Best XI In 2003 and 2004, before being traded to Real Salt Lake for allocation before the 2005 season.
