On May 12th, 1996, one of the greatest rivalries in MLS began as the MetroStars squared off against D.C. United for the first time. Giovanni Savarese scored the Metros first-ever goal vs. United as the match finished regular time tied 1-1. The MetroStars won the match in a shootout, and kicked off 19 years of memorable moments between the two clubs. Let's see what Wednesday's match has in store.
