HARRISON, N.J. (June 2, 2016) – The New York Red Bulls will travel to Rochester to face the Rochester Rhinos in the fourth round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, June 15, at 7 p.m. The Rhinos, who compete in the United Soccer League, advanced to the fourth round by defeating Landsdowne Bhoys FC last night in a third-round matchup 2-0.
Rochester, the defending USL Champions, are 4-2-3 this season, including a 0-0 draw with New York Red Bulls II, the club’s USL affiliate.
The teams have met on one other occasion in the Open Cup, a fourth-round matchup in 2005, also in Rochester, that the Rhinos won, 3-1.
In 2015, the New York Red Bulls reached the quarterfinals of the Open Cup before falling to the Philadelphia Union on penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw.
