The New York Red Bulls will welcome New York City FC for the second time in as many months, in the fourth round of the 2018 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, on Wednesday, June 6 at 7:30 p.m.
The Red Bulls are looking to bounce back from a 2-1 loss on Saturday to the New England Revolution, at Gillette Stadium, which saw the Revolution score two unanswered goals after the 45th minute.
The Red Bulls are 7-3-1 against NYCFC across all competitions, and took the first meeting between the two clubs earlier this season, with a 4-0 win at Red Bull Arena.
They will now look to repeat the result from last season, when they defeated NYCFC in the fourth round of the Open Cup last June to spark a run to the Open Cup Final.
"I think we can take a lot from that run. Obviously, we want to do that again, but we know it's one game at a time", Ryan Meara said, after Saturday's game in Gillette Stadium. "You look at that run last year and I think each game was decided by one goal, if I'm not mistaken. So, we want to make that run again, but we know it starts Wednesday, and you're only as good as the game in front of you. We hope to get off to a good start on Wednesday and just take it from there."
Tickets are available for $25 online or by calling 1.877.727.6223.
