Red Bull New York have completed the transfer of midfielder Nehuen Benedetti from Club Estudiantes de la Plata for an undisclosed transfer fee, the club announced today. Benedetti has signed a four-year MLS contract through 2029 with an option for 2030.
“Nehuen has shown a great development over the last year with New York Red Bulls II and delivered with a big season in 2025,” said Head of Sport Julian de Guzman. “He has earned this opportunity with our first team, and we are looking forward to seeing what he can accomplish next season.”
Benedetti, 20, spent last season with New York Red Bulls II in MLS NEXT Pro, where he made 23 appearances and recorded 11 goals and seven assists. Benedetti was named to the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Best XI and became the second player in franchise history to receive that honor. His 11 goals scored is tied with Tom Barlow for the second place in franchise history for most goals scored in a single season. The midfielder was also named MLS NEXT Pro Player of the Month for the month of June, after scoring four goals and providing three assists across four matches. He recorded four goal contributions during the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro playoffs helping RBNY II to their first MLS NEXT Pro Cup title.

The Bosque, Argentina native spent the previous two seasons prior to joining NYRB II on loan with Estudiantes de la Plata, where he made five appearances for the club. He spent most of his time with Club Estudiantes de la Plata II. He made 27 appearances and tallied three goals and two assists.
Benedetti has made one appearance for the Argentina U-20’s at the youth international level. He made his debut on July 25, 2024, in a 1-1 draw against Mauretanien U-20’s.
